Mobnet Mid-Term Review

Mobnet consortium

The days 1,2 and 3 of February, in Orbital's facilities, it took part the meeting between Mobnet companies of the consortium due to the MTR (Mid-Term Review).

The meeting began with a welcome speech from Mobnet project coordinator, who gave an overview of the areas for Mobnet and presented a summary of the activities carried out.
The rest of the day was dedicated to the integration of the equipment, making tests and discussions of design improvements. Another activity was mounting the equipment on the UAV to study the future placement of each component and its integration. They shuffled different options and took photos to view and confirm the optimum result.

The main task of the integration days was evaluating the communications between the different modules. The communication between DCT (Digital Cellular Technologies) and Datalink was tested successfully. It worked by a smartphone app that calculated the phone's coordinates and sent them to the DCT. The Ground Station (GS) received the messages through the Datalink and were represented correctly in the HMI (Human Machine Interface).

The communications between the GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) and the Datalink have tested also. When the testing finished, was the moment to define the next aims as well as the changes needed to try to improve the system.

On Friday, the MOBNET consortium welcomed UE members responsible for auditing that the project is being carried out correctly. During the day, companies represented all the work packages made and the review was satisfactorily passed.
